About Legnica

Legnica and its history inspired the idea of the "New World Center". Legnica is a town with a multi-ethnic history. Passed from hand to hand. Before it became a Polish town, it was German and then Soviet. After the war, there was a large Jewish community. Lemkos were forcibly resettled in the vicinity of Legnica. Also
the Greeks were coming here. Each of these nations changed something, building its own Legnica – both  materially and metaphorically. They created a „big” history of the town, which consists of the „smaller”,
but personal and true stories of its people.
The idae of the "New World Centre"  is connected with multiculturalism of Legnica as it is a meeting place for people from different cultures.
