„W 1977 roku Komitet Wojewódzki PZPR nas wyrzucił z teatru, bo któremuś sekretarzowi się zamarzyło. Dostaliśmy przydział na Leńskiego. Kiedyś tam prężnie działał teatr żydowski, ale potem gmina żydowska nie miała już pieniędzy na utrzymanie. Jak my tam przyszliśmy była to kompletna ruina. Na początku przechodziliśmy przez jakieś dziury, a do biur, które znajdowały się na piętrze, wchodziliśmy po cegłach, bo nie było schodów. Sala koncertowa też była zniszczona – brakowało dachu. Ale wiele pracy i pieniędzy włożył w to dyrektor – Andrzej Tomasojć. Dzięki niemu w rok, może trochę więcej wszystko zostało wyremontowane. Szkoda, że po przemianach roku ‘89 to wszystko zamieniło się w ruinę. Tam była bardzo dobra akustyka, można było to utrzymać. Strasznie mi żal, bo tyle pracy w to Andrzej włożył. Pamiętam, jak kiedyś przychodzi do mnie do pokoju i mówi:
- Słuchaj, zaprosiłem Grechutę i zespół Anawa.
- Ale zmyślasz! – odpowiedziałam.
A potem przyjechali.
Pamiętam, jaka euforia w tedy była. Ale największa euforia zapanowała w mieście, gdy przyjechał Zenon Laskowik z kabaretem Tey z Poznania. Oni tam mieli swój teatr, na którego przedstawienia nie było nigdy biletów. Oni byli na tamte czasy gwiazdami, zwłaszcza Laskowik, Rudi Schubert i Bohdan Smoleń. Teraz już nie ma takich kabaretów, wszystko takie ordynarne, głupkowate. Ale to byli normalni, bardzo sympatyczni ludzie. Przyszli do biura Andrzeja i akurat leciał w telewizji mecz, to nie chcieli wychodzić, tylko ukradkiem zerkali na odbiornik. Przed występem pod salą na Nowym Świecie gromadzili się nawet ci, którzy nie mieli biletów, byle choć na chwilę zobaczyć swych idoli. Ja tam pracowałam i wiele osób mnie prosiło, żeby ich wprowadzić na salę. A dziewczyny z WSK-u ten występ cały nagrywały i potem w pracy odtwarzały po kilka razy. Pamiętam też, że jak przyjechał Jan Kaczmarek z kabaretem Elita, to poszli na grzyby. Tak im poszło, że cały lasy prawie wyrwali!
Mimo że pracowałam w WDK-u tylko 1,5 roku, to bardzo miło wspominam ten okres. Atmosfera mi się podobała. Wszyscy byli otwarci i życzliwi.”

"In 1977, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party threw us out of the Theater. We got an allocation on Lensky’s (former name of street, now a day it is New World street). Before there was a very good Jewish Theatre, but then the Jewish community no longer had money to keep the building in the good condition. As we came there was a complete ruin. At the beginning we were entering through some holes in wall, and to the offices on the floor we were walking the bricks, because there was no stairs. The concert hall was also damaged - the roof was missing. But a lot of work and money were puted in the by the director - Andrzej Tomasojć. And because of that everything has been renovated in one year, maybe a little more. It is a pity that after the changes of '89, it all fell into ruin. There was a very good acoustics, it was possible to keep it. I'm very disappointed because it was so much of Andrzej. I remember ones, he come to my room and say:
- Listen, I invited Grechuta and group Anawa.(famous musicians of ’80)
- You joking! - I replied.
And then they arrived.
I remember such an euphoria was because of them. But the greatest euphoria reigned in the city when Zenon Laskowik arrived with the cabaret “Tey” from Poznań. They had their own theater and the tickets were always sold out. That were the stars of those times, especially Laskowik, Rudi Schubert and Bohdan Smolen. Nowadays there are no such cabarets, all are rude and goofy. But they were normal and very nice people. They come to Andrzej’s office and there was match on the television. They did not want to go out, but were stealthily watching the match. Before the performance started there where people without the tickets waiting in front of the doors. They just wanted to see their idols just for a while. I worked there, and many people have asked me to help them to enter the performance. The performance was recorded and after at work we were watching it a few times. I also remember Jan Kaczmarek, when he come with the cabaret Elite. They went to pick mushrooms in the forest. They found so much mushrooms, that they left almost empty forest.
Although, I worked in the WDK-in only 1,5 years, it was very nice memories from this period. I liked the atmosphere. All people were open and friendly. "
